End of 2015 Roundup/Happy 2016

It was six weeks between my last post, MATCHMAKER, MATCHMAKER, and the one before it, TURN OF THE CORKSCREW. Writing, revising, revising some more, grand-mothering and teaching took over. In the last few weeks, I finally caught up with longtime friends over dinner. Michael, how great to get your theater and book reviews again! Barbara, big deal you didn’t capture Saks’ light show with your camera on our night out. You have a lovely thumb!

I’m resolving to blog more frequently in 2016. Many of my posts, like me, will be shorter than before. The last time I wrote about getting shorter, a friend from high school responded that she was getting shorter, too. I won’t resolve NOT to repeat myself. That would be asking too much.

2015 surprised me. I had the pleasure of working with new, amazing students, who’ll be continuing in my advanced class in 2016. And the pleasure of working with two terrific book editors. My memoir will be out in the spring.

On Saturday, February 27 at 2:00, I’ll be offering a WRITING FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE workshop at Turn of the Corkscrew Books and Wine in Rockville Centre, Long Island. I love the store and can’t wait.

My parents and my friend, Doreen, all gone from this world for years now, remain my guiding angels. I consult with them all time.

My family is my greatest joy. Saturday—the last Saturday of 2015–was a hoot. My stepdaughter had presents for the clan. The rest of us—minus my stepson who couldn’t be with us–congregated at my daughter’s and son-in-law’s where we all laughed ourselves silly and sang. A few of the adults did not know that Mary Had a Little Lamb has many verses. My little grandson, the lead singer and guitarist, and I repeated the entire song over and over, well into the night. Those adults know the verses now.

Music and laughter. I’ll drink to that. I raise my glass and toast you all dear friends with my warmest wishes for lots of laughter and music in the New Year and always.

Happy, Healthy 2016 to you!

Love, Nancy
