On Friday May 30, the East 9th Street block between University Place and Broadway was named the Terrence McNally Way.  I attended the event.  I am a huge McNally fan.  I’ve seen most of his plays, some more than once.  His partner Tom Kirdahy, who still lives in the apartment they shared, hosted the event.  It was totally terrific. Very warm.  Very community.  Very theater. Very New York.

Jonathan Groff spoke.

Jonathan Groff can do Everything, including hug me.

Here he is with Lin- Manuel  Miranda.

And here I am with Brian Stokes Mitchell.

He sang. Such a stirring baritone.

And here I am with Tom

and here is his team

Talk about Love, Valor and Compassion. What a playwright!

So gifted! So cool!

So glad you could be there! You definitely have your thumb on the pulse of this city. I'm glad he's being honored this way. I was fortunate to meet Terrence and Tom when Tom was given the NYU College of Arts and Science Alumni Achievement Award.
